Who is The Painted Hag

Years ago I decided I was going to be a star! In the movies, on broadway, a soap star, to me it I just wanted stardom. But I believe I was spared from true stardom in the limelight because, I don’t believe I could have handled the constant scrutiny of the public eye.

After years of being a professional actor, singer, dancer and loving every minute of it, things slowed down and I was forced to get a “real” job, but I never gave up on my dream. So I worked a real job and still did shows for 30 more years. I married a Chef and had two beautiful children, who are all grown up now. So let’s jump ahead to how I came to being and doing Art. I was bored out of my mind with my job that I had been at for seven years, worked from home, kids graduated and moved out and there I sat. Seven years in I decided I could not sustain a job that I was miserable at so I started painting furniture. Not your typical ordinary refurbished furniture but whimsical and full of color and finished the top of my furniture pieces with an epoxy resin finish. 

I lost my job two months after building a website and became, “The Painted Hag”. Now “hags”, usually aren’t considered pretty, or nice or many other things, but what happens when that “hag” is painted and turned into a piece of one of kind art? She becomes beautiful, whimsical and a one of a kind piece for your home thus, “The Painted Hag” was born.
